Charming atmosphere with delightful food
I recently enjoyed a lovely two-night stay at a cozy pub with a charming ambiance created by its original oak beams and slate floors. The meals were consistently tasty, especially the home-cooked steak pie that hit the spot after a day exploring the beautiful countryside. My room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were always friendly and accommodating. a wider menu with healthier options would be nice.

We had a nice stay at this traditional pub, where we found the ensuite bathroom to be fabulous and bright. The location was great for scenic walks near Carlisle, which was perfect for our family and pet. The fresh scrambled eggs for breakfast were a highlight!
My kids wished there were more child-friendly meal options available for dinner.

It was just a fitting option for a brief pit stop in Brampton with all in all brilliant value for money. The hosts were upfront about the plumbing issues, which I appreciated—even if it was frustrating. Make sure to shower early to avoid the cold water!

really enjoyed my stay here! the staff were super friendly n made me feel welcomed right away. the room was cozy and had everything needed. A hot shower which was a lifesaver. the atmosphere in the pub was chill n lovely, also had some really nice food. it's in a cute lil village which makes it a perfect getaway.
only downside was that the bed felt a bit hard for me, and i didn't sleep the best. also, it can get noisy when the pub is busy at night.

The Blacksmiths Arms serves up some cracking grub that'll have you coming back for more, with a charming atmosphere that's just perfect for unwinding after exploring the Cumbrian countryside. Plus, they’ve got a lovely beer garden to enjoy a cheeky pint in the sun!
I had a bit of a restless night, as the bed was a tad firm for my liking, but the pillows were spot on for a good rest.

The stay offered a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious meals, particularly the grilled meat, which was excellent. The room was clean, quiet, and well-stocked with tea and coffee. the decor felt dated, and while the ensuite bathroom was impressive, the room could use some refreshing paint. The breakfast was nice but quite basic, and you can hear noise from the pub at closing time.
